The chain ferry at first light
Cross before eight and you will have Studland to yourself for an hour.
The chain ferry runs from seven. Cross on the first or second boat and walk the Studland beach north for an hour before the day arrives — you will pass more oystercatchers than people.
Back for the nine o’clock ferry, or carry on to the Bankes Arms for breakfast if the walk has earned it.
