Two of us, eight houses, one peninsula.
We started letting our own place in 2019 because the agency photos did not look like our house and the guests kept phoning us anyway. It turned out we were quite good at it.
We are Lewis and Ella. We live on the peninsula, our kids go to school here, and the houses we look after are within a ten-minute walk of our front door. That is the whole business model.
We keep it to eight homes on purpose. A short list means we know each one — which window sticks, where the good coffee is, which neighbour to warn about the barbecue. It also means we can say no to guests who are not a fit, which is most of how you keep neighbours happy.
The rules are short. Honest photographs. One price. A person who answers. If we ever grow past what two people can look after properly, we will stop growing.
